COMIC BOOKS
League of Extraordinary Gentlemen: The Tempest
Writer: Alan Moore Artist: Kevin O'Neill Colorist: Ben Dimagwaliw Letterer: Todd Klein
Co-published by Top Shelf Productions and Knockabout Comics.
26 pages of this six-issue series involved 3D, which myself and Charles Barnard had the privilege to work on together. This was an amazing experience - it was my first time collaborating with another 3D conversionist, and I believe the collaboration strengthened the end result. I'm extremely proud of the work we did together.
Note: while there are red & green 3D glasses included, you can also use the more commonly found red & cyan glasses instead (both types will work just fine).
Madman In Your Face 3D Special Starring Frank Einstein
Writer & Artist: Michael Allred Colorist: Laura Allred
Published by Image Comics
80 pages (plus covers) of 3D fun! I'd say this was a dream come true for yours truly, except I don't know that I'd ever dared to dream this big. Working on this book was an exhausting blast, and part of me will always feel like the whole experience was too good to be real. The confusion of "did this really happen?" was compounded when the book was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2015 (Best Single Issue or One-Shot).
Deep Artwork by Pat Moriarity
- Artist: Pat Moriarity Editor: Michael Dowers
- Per publisher Noreah / Brownfield's website:
- "Giant sized 3D art zine. 32 pages measuring 12X9.5 inches. 3D mastermind, Christian LeBlanc has taken Moriarity’s powerful crazy art and turned it into a brain-bending, eye-shattering experience. Iggy Pop’s butt has never stuck out farther. Between Pat Moriarity’s art and Christian LeBlanc’s 3D work, all the different colored pages, and the large magazine size with rounded corners, this book is a circus of visual delights."

Micronauts #1 Complete 3D Box Set (cover)
Artist: J.H. Williams III
Published by IDW Publishing
Each box set contains 5 variant covers of the first issue of Micronauts, and is the only place to get the variant cover that I worked on (J.H. Williams did a variant cover for both Micronauts and Rom, and I had the honor of converting his work into 3D for these).

Madman Comin' Atcha 3D Trading Cards!
This was a Kickstarter project initiated by Christopher Irving, which resulted in a trading card set that included 72 3D conversions, including bonus subsets. I view this as a perfect companion piece to the 3D comic, as the conversions were picked from all over Madman's timeline - from his earliest appearances in Creatures of the ID and Grafik Muzik, to his illustration used on the packaging of his Amazing Heroes action figure. Christopher and I chose images to represent Madman's friends and enemies, important points in his life, pictures that would look particularly good in 3D, and panels we just really wanted to see converted. Some new guest artist pinups were commissioned, and a few classic pinups were used as well. All in all, this was a great way for me to hang around a little longer in Snap City, and I'm very happy with how the set turned out. See for yourself with a few 3D preview images courtesy of io9!

Madman 25! Waxpack
Christopher Irving (The Drawn Word) published this 25-card set of cards in 2017 in celebration of Madman's 25th anniversary, and I got to return to Snap City, converting 5 more cards into 3D. Available here.
Mystery Science Theater 3000 Official Trading Cards - Series One
Published by RRParks Cards in 2018 - I was asked to provide black and white conversions for 18 cards in this set, one of which (and one of my favourites) can be viewed here. I was also asked to keep these conversions simpler, often to just a few flat layers, which presented an interesting challenge; this also forced me to be resourceful in picking images and setting layers apart from each other. (That said, I did cheat on a few of these and threw in extra layers, some rounding where necessary, etc).
Mystery Science Theater 3000 Official Trading Cards - Series Two
Published by RRParks Cards in 2018 - I got to convert 36 cards this time, again keeping things simpler, but resulting in a very fun 'cardboard cutout' style (again, with more complex cheats here and there). You can see a few super fun examples on the original Kickstarter page.
Sharknado Official Collectible Trading Cards - Series One
Published by RRParks Cards in 2018 - I was asked for 18 black and white conversions for this set, although I got a little loose with the definition of 'simple' on some cards. You can see a really fun example on the original Kickstarter page.
Fletcher Hanks 3D Trading Cards
Working again with Christopher Irving (The Drawn Word), I got to convert 9 surreal images into 3D for this boutique set of trading cards that came out in 2018. Like with the MST3K cards, I found that a simpler, 'cardboard cutout' style of 3D was more effective for most of these images - although I couldn't help adding a bit more rounding in a few places.
Little Shop of Horros: 3D Trading Cards
This was fun - I got to work with Attic Card Company on a boutique set of 9 3D cards based on the 1960 film; the backs of all 9 cards form a giant 3D puzzle of a 10th 3D image. What's extra special about this, is that Attic went the extra step and made sure the puzzle fits together perfectly: no overlap or missing gaps, that would otherwise make viewing very difficult.
POSTERS & PRINTS
Star Wars Micro Comic Collector Packs
- IDW put these out in 2015. Each pack randomly contains one of six mini-comic re-mastered reprints of Marvel's original Star Wars movie adaptations, a trading card, a pair of 3D glasses, and a mini-poster with a 3D conversion of the included comic cover (which is where I come in). I'm impressed with how the whole package turned out, and pleased to have gotten to play around in a galaxy far, far away...ICv2 has the anaglyphs posted online in their preview of the set, viewable here.
Empire Strikes Back Micro Comic Collector Packs
IDW put these out in 2016. Again, each pack randomly contains one of six mini-comic re-mastered reprints of Marvel's original Star Wars movie adaptations, a trading card, a pair of 3D glasses, and a mini-poster with a 3D conversion of the included comic cover that I converted.
